Program Brief
In collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Explore Aid embarked on a transformative three-day Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and Psychological First Aid training. The training aimed to equip frontline responders, community workers, and health staff with essential skills to provide immediate emotional and practical support to individuals affected by crisis, displacement, and violence.
The curriculum covered core principles of MHPSS, psychological first aid techniques, stress management, self-care for helpers, and ethical considerations when working with vulnerable populations. Participants engaged in role-plays, case studies, and group discussions to enhance their practical competencies. A total of 45 participants (20 male, 25 female) from local NGOs, health facilities, and community-based organizations successfully completed the training.
Key outcomes: participants reported increased confidence in identifying distress, providing basic support, and making appropriate referrals. The training also contributed to stronger coordination between Explore Aid, IOM, and local partners, laying the groundwork for a community-based MHPSS network.
