A secure, accessible platform designed to help survivors of gender-based violence in North-Eastern Nigeria access the support they need with dignity and confidentiality.
Learn How It WorksWatch this short video to understand how the E-Nexus platform connects survivors to critical services
A step-by-step walkthrough of the E-Nexus referral process
The foundation of E-Nexus is built on core principles that prioritize survivor safety, dignity, and agency
Absolute priority on survivor safety, confidentiality, and agency. Every feature is evaluated against potential risks to users.
Designed for diverse realities including low literacy, multiple languages, and basic feature phones.
Addressing the pervasive lack of trust in institutions through transparency and community-based partnerships.
E-Nexus is designed as a cohesive ecosystem with two interconnected interfaces
A survivor dials the USSD code (*347*150#) and navigates a simple menu to request assistance in their preferred language.
The request is transmitted securely with minimal data: phone number (as temporary ID), service type, and LGA.
The request appears on the dashboard, visible to CSOs operating in the survivor's LGA.
A CSO accepts the case, which is then removed from the general queue to prevent duplicate responses.
The CSO contacts the survivor using secure protocols and begins the case management process.
After services are provided, the case is closed and anonymous feedback is solicited to improve services.
Designed for simplicity and accessibility, even with basic feature phones
The USSD interface guides survivors through a simple step‑by‑step process to request help. Pressing 9 at any step returns to the previous screen.

Implementing robust security measures to protect survivor information
All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols to ensure confidentiality.
We collect only the absolute minimum data necessary to facilitate referrals and provide services.
Strict access controls ensure that users can only view information necessary for their specific roles.
Full compliance with Nigeria Data Protection Act (2023) requirements for handling sensitive personal data.
A phased approach to ensure successful rollout and adoption
Small-scale pilot in selected LGAs in Borno State with 3-5 trusted partner CSOs to test functionality and gather feedback.
Rollout to remaining LGAs in Borno State, incorporating lessons learned from the pilot phase.
Expansion into Adamawa and Yobe states, following the same model of training and onboarding CSOs.
Establishing governance structures and long-term funding models to ensure platform sustainability.
