Enhancing Ethical Engagements with Survivors: Murad Code Training and Help Desk 1 Sessions Supported by International Institute for Criminal Investigation (IICI) and Professor Annie Bunting from York University, Canada

Explore Aid, in collaboration with IICI and Professor Annie Bunting from York University Canada, organized a one-day Murad Code training and help desk session for its researchers and research assistants. This initiative aimed to enhance the research capabilities of Explore Aid’s team, providing them with specialized knowledge and support in utilizing the Murad Code.

The training session commenced with an introduction to the Murad Code, a comprehensive approach to understanding its principles and how it applies to engaging survivors in conflict-affected regions. Facilitated by Professor Annie Bunting, participants gained insight into the theoretical foundations and practical applications of the Murad Code.

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Understanding Murad Codes Principles: Participants were introduced to the core principles and components of the Murad Code, including its relevance in engaging survivors and ensuring accountability.
  2. Practical Application: Through interactive exercises and case studies, participants learned how to apply the Murad Code in real-world research settings.
